Overview
Villa Sorbaiano is an Ancient, 19th-century, aristocratic villa over three floors with ten bedrooms and six bathrooms, easily sleeping twenty, excellently located in a scenic position with a large park and private swimming pool. The whole property is suitable for groups of friends or large families.
The villa is right in the centre of a large park full of trees and is distinguished by a wonderful terrace at its front overlooking a sweeping view of all the surrounding countryside. The rectangular swimming pool is in a scenic position, 150m from the villa, with a tiled solarium, beach umbrellas and sunbeds as well as a shower. Guests can also use an outdoor area with a stone-built barbecue.
Set over three floors, you enter from the ground floor where there is a spacious billiards room with sofas and armchairs leading directly out to the garden; there is also a small sitting room/study; a toilet and the laundry room. The first floor, formerly considered as the noble floor where the owners used to live, has got spacious rooms with high ceilings which are reached both from the ground floor and from an external stairway giving directly onto a large living room with fireplace and satellite TV. There is a small sitting room for breakfast; a dining room; a well-equipped kitchen; a terrace with a scenic view and one double bedroom with shower ensuite. On the second floor, there is a small sitting room ideal for conversing and nine bedrooms: one double bedroom with shower ensuite; one double bedroom and a twin bedroom share a bathroom with bath; one double bedroom and one twin bedroom share a bathroom with shower; three double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and two bathrooms with shower.
Activities and Attractions
The villa is in the hills which from the Etruscan city of Volterra go towards the sea, near the town of Montecatini Val di Cecina. The beaches are about 35 minutes away by car, Volterra is about 15 minutes. For those who love golf, the nearest golf course is about 45 minutes away. Montecatini val di Cecina (all kinds of shops) 2 km, Volterra 14 km, Marina di Bibbona (beaches) 32 km, Pisa 67 km, Siena 70 km, Firenze 98 km.
The villa is part of a farm, a modern agricultural enterprise of 270 hectares of which 160 are cultivated with cereals, 70 hectares are woodland, 15 hectares are olive groves and 27 are vineyards of DOC Montescudaio. The area is very quiet and secluded, away from traffic. Slightly distantanced from the villa is the administration office of the farm where you can ask for any kind of information.
