Overview
This charming country house is in the heart of the Val d’Orcia not far from San Quirico deep in the Tuscan countryside. Small hills, agricultural land and small medieval villages have remained intact despite time and are all distinct features of the surrounding countryside. Within the range of 25 km are towns like Bagno Vignoni, famous for its thermal baths, Montalcino and Pienza. Apart from these splendid places Montepulciano, Siena, Cortona or Lake Trasimeno are within easy reach.
The house is divided into three apartments, all finely furnished with typically Tuscan “arte povera” rustic pieces found in the farmhouse as well as some antiques, and each has central heating. From each apartment you reach a communal area with comfortable seating and a satellite television ideal for up to twenty people. There is a large green outdoor area equipped with games for children and a swimming pool with a wonderful view with. There is also a solarium area equipped with a shower, deckchairs and umbrellas. It is possible to have barbecues around the swimming pool as well as by the wooden gazebo for outdoor dinners. The laundry room, with washing machine, is on the ground floor. A baby bed and Wi-Fi are available and included in the price.
On the ground floor is apartment one with a spacious kitchen/dining room with an ancient kitchen sink in serena stone; ancient fireplace with internal seats; three double bedrooms each with shower ensuite; one of the bedrooms has a sleeping loft, with a single bed, reached via a spiral staircase.
Also on the ground floor is second apartment with a kitchen/dining room with an ancient fireplace in serena stone and one double bedroom with shower ensuite. A spiral staircase takes you from the bedroom to a sleeping loft with two single beds.
The third apartment is on the third floor with a living/dining room and a kitchenette with a sink hollowed out in stone and wood stove’ one double bedroom with shower ensuite and one double bedroom with an ensuite bath and shower. A staircase takes you from the bedroom to a sleeping loft with a single bed.
LOCATION: 6 km Campiglia d’Orcia (grocery shops), 10 km Bagno Vignoni (thermal spa), 14 km San Quirico d’Orcia (all kinds of shops), 21 km Pienza, 28 km Montepulciano and Montalcino, 45 km Lake Trasimeno, 55 km Cortona, 60 km Siena.
